Artist Statement

 

One of the great joys in life is to love and be loved in return. One of my biggest challenges has been to open my heart to truly receive the type of love that I so freely give. This series marked my quest to understand how I want to be loved, how I want to love, and to embrace that kinda love daily. I asked many people what kind of love they desired. The messages were beautifully bold, dynamic, loud, vivid, humorous, and full of heart and depth.

not letting you go even if my momma says so...

let's make 6 babies, okay, maybe 2...

made for only you cuz nobody else understands us, Boo...

Each painting in this series, full of warmth, rawness, and expressive freedom, sought to capture these sentiments and was named after the type

of love that I desire.

 

So now I'm making my vision clear, learning to shower myself with this kinda love first, and welcoming it and all that it brings, into my heart.
